Elwood opens CountryMark fuel station, travel plaza

Apr 06 2017

The Elwood, Ind., community recently welcomed a new CountryMark fuel station and travel plaza designed to meet the needs of both over-the-road truckers and everyday motorists at 239 N. 29th St.

The new travel plaza offers CountryMark’s TOP TIER certified gasoline including 87 PLUS and 91 PLUS and as well as showers, two seating areas and hot food. An adjacent CountryMark fuel site offers Premium Dieselex-4 on-road and off-road diesel fuel as well as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).

“We have built a brand new 4,500 square foot travel plaza offering motorists and truckers a lounge area, showers and plenty of great hot and cold food options including fresh salads, fried chicken, pizza, macaroni and cheese and much more,” said Eddie Yehdego, owner of the Eddie’s Quick Mart. “But more than that we are excited to be a part of the Elwood landscape. We want to be the hometown store for this community and we intend to pay it back by supporting local projects.”

The CountryMark gasoline at this site is being supplied by Harvest Land Co-op, a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in Richmond, Ind. Harvest Land currently supplies 11 CountryMark fuel stations in Indiana and Ohio.

“This site offers the best of both worlds with premium gasoline availability and amenities to serve fleet accounts in the Elwood area,” said Mike Bradley sales and marketing manager for Harvest Land Co-op. “We are proud to be a part of such a great, well-run station in the Elwood community.”

According to Gary Barrett, retail manager for CountryMark, this retail site has been well-received by the Madison County community.

“This is an absolutely beautiful station, well-lit with very nice restrooms and some of the best fried chicken on the market,” said Gary Barrett, retail manager for CountryMark. “And the station offers competitive pricing on CountryMark PLUS gasoline products.”

Eddie, who owns one additional CountryMark site in Albion, Ind. said “I really appreciate the relationship that I have with CountryMark. They have been willing to help me along the way so we can grow together in a true cooperative spirit.”

Today, there are more than 100 branded retail stations and 180 tankwagon routes throughout the Midwest that sell and deliver CountryMark refined fuels and lubricants.

CountryMark’s line of premium liquid fuels begins with light, sweet American crude oil. It is refined to the highest specifications at the CountryMark refinery in Mt. Vernon, Ind. Fuel quality and integrity is further protected in distribution, as CountryMark owns its own pipeline distribution system.
