Waltonville welcomes first CountryMark retail fuel station

Apr 21 2017

The southern Illinois community of Waltonville recently welcomed its first CountryMark fuel station at 579 South Hirons St.

David South is the petroleum department manager for SynEnergy Partners, which is delivering CountryMark fuels to the new station in Jefferson County.

“Waltonville has gone years without a fuel station, so this station is going to provide the community with an extremely convenient source for locally refined, high quality fuels,” said South. “I think the public is going to be impressed with how nice this site is. It is brand new, spacious and extremely well designed. It can accommodate both passenger cars as well as diesel-powered trucks.”

Going by the name Spartanville Fueling Station, this brand new Illinois business is owned by Waltonville residents John and Wendy Smith and Keith and Abby Jones. The station features a convenience store including hot pizza, chicken wings, subs and breakfast items such as biscuits and gravy.  It is open seven days a week, including Sunday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Specific fuel products offered include CountryMark diesel fuel and CountryMark 87 PLUS and 93 PLUS gasoline, which are TOP TIER certified gasoline products that include a 10-percent ethanol blend.

“Eight of the largest auto manufacturers in the world recommend TOP TIER gasoline because of what this level of fuel quality does for gasoline engine performance and engine life,” said CountryMark retail manager Gary Barrett. “That’s the quality of fuel our customers expect from CountryMark, and that is the quality of fuel we provide.”

Supplying the fuel for this new site is SynEnergy Partners, which is a CountryMark branded dealer and a farmer owned cooperative headquartered in Mt. Vernon, Ind. Along with its parent company, Posey County Co-op, SynEnergy is the fuel supplier to 18 CountryMark branded fuel stations in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky and was recognized in 2016 as the largest branded dealer in the CountryMark cooperative system.

CountryMark refined fuels and lubricants are distributed through 14 member cooperatives throughout the Midwest, which then deliver these fuels and lubricants to 100-plus CountryMark branded retail fuel stations and 200-plus delivery routes.

CountryMark’s line of premium liquid fuels begins with light, sweet American crude oil. It is refined to the highest specifications at the CountryMark refinery in Mt. Vernon, Ind. Fuel quality and integrity is further protected in distribution, as CountryMark owns its own pipeline distribution system.
