CountryMark retail station opens in Terre Haute, Indiana

May 24 2015

Terre Haute’s first CountryMark fuel station is open for business. The site offers great food and high quality, locally refined fuels.

The former Stuckey’s Restaurant at 9950 South U.S. 41 in Terre Haute, Indiana, has been transformed into Vigo County’s first CountryMark fuel station. The newly opened station features CountryMark premium quality gasoline and diesel fuel, a convenience store, and a submarine sandwich shop called the Hoagie House.

Owner Curtis Bodine, who also owns the Sunoco & Noble Roman’s Pizza in Pimento, said the project involved a complete remodel of the site.

"My grandparents started farming a few miles from here over 60 years ago and my daughter is the 4th generation of my family to call this area home,” said Bodine. “We are excited to continue to serve the community and expand to our second site.  Most of our customers we know on sight and have watched their families grow up. We also look forward to making many new friends at our new location.”

Ceres Solutions, a CountryMark member cooperative, will supply the station with CountryMark fuels. Joe Milner, Energy Manager with Ceres Solutions, said Ceres had been looking for a number of years for an opportunity to bring a CountryMark retail site to Terre Haute.

“Partnering with Curtis Bodine was the perfect way to bring a CountryMark retail site to Terre Haute,” said Milner. “Curtis is well respected in the community, and has valuable retail fuel and convenience store experience.”

Milner added that Vigo County residents have been requesting a CountryMark retail station for years.

“I think there is a lot of local interest because of the CountryMark oil wells here in Vigo County,” said Milner. “CountryMark has provided a lot of local jobs and helped our local economy. I think people like the idea that the fuel comes from their own backyard.”

CountryMark Retail Manager Gary Barrett noted that as a farmer-owned oil company, CountryMark approaches fuel quality in a different way.

“We produce the quality of fuels that our farmer owners want to use in their own vehicles,” said Barrett. “Our premium diesel fuels are the only fuels in our marketplace that are consistently a 50-cetane product, which provides our diesel customers with more power, performance and reliability than they can get from comparable diesel products.”

Barrett went on to note that CountryMark PLUS gasoline has earned TOP TIER certification.

“Only 30 gasoline retailers in the nation have achieved this quality level,” said Barrett. “Seven of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world recommend TOP TIER gasoline because of what this level of fuel quality does for gasoline engine performance and engine life. That’s the quality of fuel our customers expect and the quality of fuel we provide.”

Bodine added that he feels good about his decision to go with the CountryMark brand and feels the brand will be well received in southern Vigo County.

“CountryMark offers the highest quality fuel,” said Bodine. “I also have the peace of mind that comes from knowing where my fuel comes from and who I will be doing business with for years to come.  Ceres Solutions understands the area, our customers and has offered me the kind of support you just don't get when you are speaking to someone who knows you as a number on a computer screen."

Premium Fuel Comes with Premium Benefits
As consumers we are bombarded by marketing campaigns claiming bigger and better products, and services that offer to simplify and improve our daily lives. Oftentimes, it is difficult to sift through the clutter as to what is factual and what is a half-truth marketing claim set out to confuse or convince us into purchasing products or services we may not necessarily need.
