CountryMark’s Premium Dieselex-4 fuel was evaluated for its impact on fuel and DEF consumption, emissions output, and engine performance following a controlled test using a John Deere 5100E tractor on a PTO dynamometer.
The test gathered performance data using a baseline D975-compliant diesel fuel and compared it against CountryMark’s Premium Dieselex-4.
During the test, fuel was supplied to the tractor from a mass flow meter which ensured accurate fuel consumption measurement. Emissions monitoring equipment was used to monitor tailpipe emissions. Prior to starting the test, injectors were pulled from the tractor, and fuel flow rates were measured. The test stand was set up following a 100-hour duty cycle on a single tractor that was validated by an independent council of farmers. The cycle consisted of a high-powered mowing period followed by a variable duty period to simulate real-life farming activities.
After 100 hours of operation using CountryMark’s Premium Dieselex-4, seven notable differences in fuel and DEF consumption and emissions were observed.
As seen in the results above, CountryMark’s Premium Dieselex-4 improved fuel economy by 1.3% and reduced DEF consumption by 5%. The test also demonstrated the fuel visibly cleaned injector deposits while increasing fuel flow rates by 1.5% and improving tractor power by 0.6%.
When CountryMark’s Premium Dieselex-4 was tested for its impact on harmful emissions, CO Emissions were reduced by 71% and NOx emissions were reduced by 30%. Additionally, the mass of soot emissions was reduced by 30% and the number of particulate emissions was reduced by 21% using Premium Dieselex-4.
